CHURCH HISTORY

Bible Truth Baptist Church started with a Bible study class at the Athens Community Center in Athens, OH in the spring of 2011 given by Pastor Troy Kline. Pastor Troy Kline is the founding pastor of Bible Truth Baptist Church.

 

Plans were being made to start church services in September of 2011. Our planting church, Maranatha Baptist Church of Sissonville, WV, along with many other faithful Independent Fundamental Baptist churches, came together and brought their congregations to help support our church, distribute and saturate Athens and surrounding counties with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the announcement of our new church opening.

Our first church service was held on September 25, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Express in Athens. We continued to hold Sunday church services, Sunday School classes, Thursday evening Bible study and prayer meetings at the hotel for two years.

In 2014, we relocated our church to a building at 10 Pine Street, The Plains, OH. Our new church building was then remodeled by volunteers from our church family, friends and members of our supporting churches.

Pastor Troy Kline, along with wife Rachel, and children - Caleb, Jonathan, and Lillian - pastored Bible Truth Baptist Church until January of 2020.

In June of 2020, Bible Truth Baptist Church welcomed Pastor Matt Peachey, wife Crystal, and children - Jay and Brooklynn. Pastor Matt Peachey received ministry training at Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City, OK.
